What’s the opposite of chill?
I am so excited! I have been working non stop in the (first year architecture) studio for the past three days, completely losing track of time but gaining incomparable insight into the nature of things. There is so much hidden in the slightest curve and line if we just let it reveal itself! Even though the days seem to merge into each other, I love riding back in the misty dark of the night with the discoveries I make at the end of every session. There’s nothing like studio atmosphere. I love every millisecond of it.
Today is the first night that I am home at 11 pm and this is the perfect summer song to chill out to.
Enjoy the summer!
Hold On
Everytime I listen to the song, I can’t stop dancing. The woman’s got such a voice and it feels like she sings with such a purpose! Her voice gives the band a sound that is a perfect blend of soul and subtle contemporary blues.
They will be playing a free concert in NYC in the summer! Be sure to check it out.

Bye Bye Birdie
There’s something about Ann Margret…that’s obvious. Nonetheless, it was in my head today!
Where have you been?
If you go, I will surely die.
We’re ch-aiined.
The dark bass line, the screeching guitars and the whiny vocals make this the best song to listen to when you’re in a self-pitying mood. However, I like to listen to this on my best days and on my worst days. Just one of those songs! The lyrics are perfectly and appropriately vague. The way he sings those words give the lyrics their substance. Have a listen to a perfect classic.
God is enough
Who do we value in the world?
Sea Oleena, Sea Oleena
I like to imagine the sea and yellow sand and sea gulls and light breeze when I listen to this.
Candy
Darling I’ll bathe your skin
I’ll even wash your clothes.
Just give me some candy
Before I go.
Blue skies are coming, but I know that its hard.
For I am His, and He is mine
In Christ alone, my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all-in-all
Here in the love of Christ I stand
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

This song makes me bawl too. And it has moved me such that I had to post it.

Leave My Scarf Alone!
I called my father. In the background I heard this song, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. But I’ve always liked the song since I was a little kid. Memories. :)
The following morning
While leaves dance in ceremony, a tribute to autumn’s homecoming
Morning liquor drips through windowsills of tired eyes
While squirrels are across the fresh mowed grass running
Guilt just leaves its residue behind
and heavy arms and burdened lungs peer through ancient shutters
Strokes of profanity burst into a storm
palms a-clenching, muscles a-cramping, tongues that mutter
In the low-lit rooms of college dorms.
Fats Weller – Ain’t Misbehavin.
As much as I love Fats Weller and Classic Bebop Jazz (<3), this particular shot is just scary. Makes me think twice about that song. HAHA!
